My artist research

Jon Jacobsen

"Jon Jacobsen art photography comes from an artist based in Quintero, Chile, with a propensity for dark humour and surrealist imagery. He is twenty-three, self-taught, and also an illustrator. His Photoshop skill is apparent in many of the images, which use props and other décor elements, most often with a mythical or even religious theme. Lots of his pictures are jarring and even violent, even though they display no actual wounds or blood: just the suggestion of psychic aggression inflicted onto modern humans by an overly active society and its often absurd rules. His work speaks of utopias, anxiety and dreams and he often departs from a very specific concept when creating an image."

Jon is a great example of learning a skill your way, a camera is a tool and so how you wield it defines the work you make.
